Pastoral Office for Persons with Disabilities (POPD)

About POPD

An Inclusive Church Towards an Inclusive Society.

The Pastoral Office for Persons with Disabilities (POPD) is a ministry of the Maronite Church dedicated to promoting the dignity, inclusion, and full participation of persons with disabilities in the life of the Church and society.

Rooted in the Gospel and inspired by the Church’s mission of welcoming every person as a unique and precious gift, POPD works to build communities where persons with disabilities are not only welcomed, but truly heard, valued, accompanied, and empowered.

Through pastoral initiatives, awareness programs, advocacy, formation, and partnerships, POPD seeks to foster a culture of inclusion within parishes, schools, families, and communities. It works alongside persons with disabilities, their families, pastoral teams, educators, and all those committed to building a more inclusive society.

Our Vision

To build an inclusive society founded on dignity, justice, and non-discrimination, in the image and spirit of our Church.

Our Mission

POPD seeks to make inclusion a lived reality within the Church and society by fostering communities where every person is welcomed, respected, valued, and given the opportunity to participate fully.

Together, we can replace barriers with opportunities,
misunderstanding with awareness, and exclusion with belonging.
